Use my cold pitch 7-step framework to sound less like AI and more human❤️
|
\n
Is it just me, or are you also noticing the AI-generated cold pitches dropping in your inbox or DMs?
\nOnes like...
\n\"Hi, I was going through your website and I personally see a lot of potential in your website & business. With your permission I would like to send you a Proposal of your website with prices showing you a few things to greatly improve these search results for you...\"
\nI probably get this message a couple of times a week, always from different people, but it's seriously the same!
\nI swear they must be using the same AI generator.
\nAnd it either has me rolling my eyes 🙄 or laughing, then deleting.
\nI want to ask them...\"Have you looked at my profile?!\" (I'm a SEO writer as well.)🤦
\nBut you DON'T have to make this cold pitch mistake. You shouldn't defer to AI, thinking you'll save time...when all you're doing is hurting yourself.
\nThere's a better way to cold pitch. A MUCH BETTER way.
\nWhen I cold pitch, I keep four key things in mind and use a seven-step framework.

📌Create a blog.
\nIf you're on the fence, do it.
\nBut I would never advise just writing about whatever you want and treating your blog like an online journal.
\nTo intentionally build traffic, create a content strategy that includes your audience's challenges while knowing how to insert SEO best practices so you can get found with your blog articles.
\nDo you notice how I wrote a blog post this week instead of including all my content in this email?
\nIt's in your best interest to keep the content you create on an owned property, such as your website.
\nIt keeps working for you LONG after an email does.
\nMonths from now, you can still get traffic from people stumbling on a blog post you spent time, research, and energy on.
\nOne of my clients started a blog this year after I recommended it as a part of their content strategy to build organic traffic for their site.
\nIn my recent quarterly report with the team, the blog post I wrote was the #2 most clicked-on page right after the homepage!
\n👉Do you want to write SEO blog posts? I wrote a 14-page guide to show you how. Reply, and I'll send it to you.
\nIn the words of Ryan Musselman, \"You should start before you're ready.\"
\nThis is how I've felt about doing video content recently.
\nI've been saying I wanted to make videos for a while but never felt really \"ready\" to do them. And then I just said...let's go!
\nAre they edited well? Not a chance. (Comments in my LinkedIn DMs remind me 😋)
\nDo I feel awkward? You betcha!
\nBut before you get good at stuff, you've got to start before you're ready.
\nWhat have you been delaying because you've told yourself, \"I'm not ready\"?
\nWill you ever feel ready?
\nHere's my nice nudge to go for it.

\nIf you want to learn more about how to do well on LinkedIn, follow Richard van der Blom. I recently heard him on Jay Clouse's podcast of Creator Science while I was running, and I had to stop repeatedly to save some notes on my phone. It was that good!
\nI enjoyed this article by Forbes about how strategic content marketing has the potential to yield higher ROIs compared to other digital channels. Just further emphasizing the work that I do with clients:)
\nAre you a sucker for those \"lessons learned\" social posts? Well, then check out this one from Scot Chisholm about his 20 years of truths you need to hear about leadership. There are several good things here. #2...\"Busy isn't a badge of honor.\" - Are you spending time on the right things? (That's a question I ask myself often!)
\nThat's it for issue 16! Wow. Thanks for growing with me.
